How NoMi News handles information on nominews.com, including The NoMi Weekly signup when that integration is activated.

What this site collects

NoMi News publishes public editorial content (articles, events, and informational alerts) on nominews.com. Reader accounts are not offered. Contact-form delivery is not connected in the current release.

The NoMi Weekly newsletter

When newsletter signup is activated by the site owner, submitting the signup form asks you to check an explicit consent box. Our server verifies that consent before contacting our email provider, Kit (ConvertKit). The provider call transmits your email address so Kit can create or update a subscription and send confirmation, newsletter, and unsubscribe messages under Kit's terms.

  • Data sent to Kit: email address (and Kit-generated subscription metadata such as subscriber id/state on Kit's systems).
  • Consent handling: affirmative checkbox consent is required and checked on our server as a gate. NoMi News does not operate a separate consent database or send a distinct consent timestamp object to Kit in the current integration.
  • Purpose: deliver The NoMi Weekly and related transactional confirmation/unsubscribe email.
  • Retention: subscription records are retained in Kit according to the active form/list settings until you unsubscribe or we request deletion with the provider.
  • Public display: subscriber emails are never listed on nominews.com.

Newsletter signup is currently inactive. Email addresses entered in the signup form are not sent to Kit while signup is disabled.

Hosting, security logs, and spam controls

NoMi News is hosted on Vercel. The hosting provider processes technical request information and security logs needed to operate and protect the website. Our application avoids recording raw subscriber email addresses in error logs. If newsletter signup is enabled in the future, we plan to use Upstash Redis to limit repeated signup requests using network information. These limits are intended to prevent abuse, not build marketing profiles.

Optional website analytics

Vercel Web Analytics is currently turned off. If enabled later, it would provide aggregated information about page visits. NoMi News does not currently use Google Analytics 4 or a paid third-party analytics service.

Your choices

If you subscribe after newsletter signup becomes available, you may unsubscribe using the link in any NoMi Weekly email. To ask about personal information held by NoMi News, or request access or deletion, email hello@nominews.com.

Changes

This notice will be updated if analytics are turned on in a deployed environment, contact-form delivery is connected, Kit custom consent fields are added, or other personal-data processors are introduced.
